Southwest Finland (Varsinais-Suomi, Egentliga Finland) has joined the Personalised Medicine partnership of the Smart Specialisation Platform of the European Union. The partnership aims to develop and release the potential of personalised medicine. The partner regions have extensive ecosystems combining biomedical, technological and data-driven expertise. By bringing these ecosystems together, the partnership will boost personalised medicine and ultimately realise an innovative approach to healthcare in Europe. The partnership is coordinated from the Netherlands and Belgium, and the local participation is led by the Regional Council of Southwest Finland, with Turku BioImaging and Turku Science Park as expert partners.
